1. Today is Day 39.
2. It is the mission of Speas Elementary School to provide its students with the tools necessary to successfully meet the challenges they will face in a diverse world.
3. Calendar items for this week:
Friday: October 17
Zone 5/6 Advisory Meeting - Cook Elementary - Clodfelter and Reichert Off-campus
$1.00 dress down for Pennies for Patients
Teachscape Classroom Walk-through training - 12:30-4:30 - Powell and Marston Off-campus
4. Ms. Clodfelter and I will be off-campus this morning from 7:30-9:00 at a Zone 5/6 Advisory Meeting at Cook Elementary.
5. At the end of each day please take the following steps:
a. Turn off your TV
b. Log off your computers but do not shut them down
c. Turn off all monitors
6. Social Committee is still collecting dues for the 2008-2009 school year. Dues are $25 and can be paid in a single payment, or installments throughout the year. See Ms. Johnson to work out payment of your dues
7. Ms. Powell and Ms. Marston will be off-campus this afternoon at classroom walk-through training.
8. Mr. McCann, our Colonial Penn representative, will be here to discuss the flexible benefits plan and other policies on Monday and Thursday of next week. Please be sure to sign up to talk with him. The sheets are in the lounge.
9. Pennies for Patients drive is extended until Friday, October 24.
10. With the forecast for rain today, put a note on the gym door if you are planning on using it for your 30 minutes of PE. Remember that the expectation is that there be some structured activities. Free play is an acceptable part, but by no means should it be the entire 30 minutes and no children should be sitting around doing nothing.
