1. Today is Day 38.
2. It is the mission of Speas Elementary School to provide its students with the tools necessary to successfully meet the challenges they will face in a diverse world.

4. I will be off-campus today participating in a Leadership Winston-Salem retreat at the Brookstown Inn. I will be back tomorrow. If you need any assistance, please contact Ms. Powell.
5. At the end of each day please take the following steps:
a. Turn off your TV
b. Log off your computers but do not shut them down
c. Turn off all monitors
6. Social Committee is still collecting dues for the 2008-2009 school year. Dues are $25 and can be paid in a single payment, or installments throughout the year. See Ms. Johnson to work out payment of your dues.
7. Ms. Powell and Ms. Marston will be off-campus tomorrow afternoon at classroom walk-through training.
8. Mr. McCann, our Colonial Penn representative, will be here to discuss the flexible benefits plan and other policies on Monday and Thursday of next week. Please be sure to sign up to talk with him. The sheets are in the lounge.
9. Pennies for Patients drive is extended until Friday, October 24. We are having an additional $1.00 dress down day this Friday, October 17 for the Pennies for Patients drive.
10. Today @ 1:30 the Peanuts video will be aired following an announcements for Pennies for Patients.
11. Please allow the following Student Council Members to talk to the class for a few minutes regarding yesterday's meeting: Say - Lee, Mincer - Nikeyta, Badarin - Dillion, Linville - Amaya, Johnson - Dominic, Miller - Christopher, Smutek - Cameron, Zinn - Silvia, Dagenbach - Kyja, Goliszek- Maya, Smith - Dezeray, Linhart - Vincent
12. Mike Larson will be here next Wednesday, October 23 after school to discuss any investment, life or retirement options. Mr. Larson will be in the cafeteria.
