1. Today is Day 36.
2. It is the mission of Speas Elementary School to provide its students with the tools necessary to successfully meet the challenges they will face in a diverse world.

4. I will be off-campus the next two days participating in a Leadership Winston-Salem retreat at the Brookstown Inn. I will be back on Friday.
5. There is a Staff Meeting today at 2:45 PM in the cafeteria.
6. At the end of each day please take the following steps:
a. Turn off your TV
b. Log off your computers but do not shut them down
c. Turn off all monitors
7. Social Committee is still collecting dues for the 2008-2009 school year. Dues are $25 and can be paid in a single payment, or installments throughout the year. See Ms. Johnson to work out payment of your dues.
8. The media center will be closed this week as the books are boxed up and removed in order for the carpet to be removed; a moisture barrier applied and new tile laid. We realize that this is an inconvenience but we could not wait until the end of the month. This had to be taken care of now. Ms. Fussell will conduct her lessons in the classrooms until the job is complete.
9. Ms. Powell and Ms. Marston will be off-campus Friday afternoon at classroom walk-through training.
10. Yesyerday was a crazy day. Well, the moon is still full so be prepared.
11. Nothing is impossible. Some things are just less likely than others.
