4. I will be off-campus today and tomorrow participating in a Leadership Winston-Salem retreat at the Brookstown Inn. I will be back on Friday. If you need any assistance, please contact Ms. Powell.

5. At the end of each day please take the following steps:
a. Turn off your TV
b. Log off your computers but do not shut them down
c. Turn off all monitors

7. Social Committee is still collecting dues for the 2008-2009 school year. Dues are $25 and can be paid in a single payment, or installments throughout the year. See Ms. Johnson to work out payment of your dues.

8. The media center will be closed this week as the carpeting is removed; a moisture barrier applied and new tile laid. We realize that this is an inconvenience but we could not wait until the end of the month. This had to be taken care of now. Ms. Fussell will conduct her lessons in the classrooms until the job is complete. The current completion date is set for Tuesday of next week. I want to publicly send a big "THANK YOU" to Mr. Ireland, Mr. Cokley, and the men from the carpentry department of maintenance for their work in getting the entire media center pack-up and moved across the hallway. It was a huge undertaking and they worked tirelessly to get it do in order to minimize the time the media center will be closed.

9. Ms. Powell and Ms. Marston will be off-campus Friday afternoon at classroom walk-through training.

10. Mr. McCann, our Colonial Penn representative, will be here to discuss the flexible benefits plan and other policies on Monday and Thursday of next week. Please be sure to sign up to talk with him. The sheets are in the lounge.

11. Our Smart Board equipment has been delivered. It will be brought down to the classrooms who will receive it this week. Then maintenance will come; mount it, and make it operational for you.

12. Should rooms 9-14 get too cold as a result of AC, just let Mr. Ireland know. We have been given permission to take over the controls from HVAC.

13. The trouble with the rat race is that even if you win, you're still a rat.
Lily Tomlin (1939 - )

Usually, terrible things that are done with the excuse that progress requires them are not really progress at all, but just terrible things.
Russell Baker (1925 - )

I do not want people to be agreeable, as it saves me the trouble of liking them.

I hope everyone enjoyed the refreshments yesterday for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. If you would like to have a magnet for your car I have a few in my room. Anyone who would like literature on breast cancer, let me know and I will be glad to go by cancer services and get what you need.
