5. We are printing 3,6 and 10 day absence letters every Monday morning and sending them out to parents. Nothing defeats the purpose of these letters more than inaccuracies. Please be sure to update your attendance and tardies each day as directed by Ms. Fletcher. In that way we can maximize the effort to improve attendance and reduce tardies.

6. Yesterday I placed a student listing from EVAAS in the box of every fourth and fifth grade teacher. This is a listing of the students that were assigned to you in NCWISE last year. Please review it for any inaccuracies. We did not attach students to Ms. Chitty and Ms. Taylor last year in the same manner as we are doing this year. That is why they do not have sheets to verify. There is a sheet for reading and for math, two sheets total. Please make any corrections and return the sheets to my box. If there are no corrections, write "No Corrections" and return it to my box.

7. Don't forget to make plans to come out and support our Student Council this Saturday morning at their Car Wash/Yard Sale/Bake Sale, from 7:00-12:00.

8. All teachers, with the exception of LD Resource, Speech and LLI, should be posting Essential Questions for every lesson.

9. The ESL Parent Night begins at 6:00 with pizza and dessert followed by a session for parents in the gym from 6:30-7:30. Children will be in the media center at 7:30 to watch a video from our collection.

10. Continue to keep Ms. Corley in your thoughts and prayers. She remains hospitalized at Forsyth.

11. We have recommended Tiffany Claybon from Alamance/Burington to fill our vacant LD Resource position. She will begin as soon as she is released there.

12. Democracy is the recurrent suspicion that more than half of the people are right more than half the time.
E. B. White (1899 - 1985), New Yorker, July 3, 1944

The goal of all inanimate objects is to resist man and ultimately defeat him.

Good judgment comes from experience, and experience comes from bad judgment.
Barry LePatner

Maturity is a bitter disappointment for which no remedy exists, unless laughter can be said to remedy anything.
