1. Today is Day 17.

2. It is the mission of Speas Elementary School to provide its students with the tools necessary to successfully meet the challenges they will face in a diverse world.

5. We are still looking for three boxes of math materials and manipulatives for second grade. They were delivered here on August 11 and signed for. Sometime after that point they disappeared. They may have been inadvertently delivered to a classroom. Please check and see if you have any boxes in your room or storage cabinets that may be these missing ones. It is essential that we find them. Thanks for your help.

6. Please note that there have been some minor changes to the AM Duty Schedule. Please check this to see if you are effected.

7. The master calendar for the year has been set. Please check with your SIT representative for further information or look up the group calendar from the link you were given by Cathy Smith

8. We have placed flyers for Discovery Place on the counter under the sign-in board in the mail room.

9. I am in need of certified and classified staff members to work after school in our 3rd and 5th grade tutoring program. The pay is $25 p/h for certified and $17 to $22 for classified depending on qualifications. Drop me an e-mail if you are interested. Tutoring takes place every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoon and will begin in October.

10. There is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.

11. Remember that today is Constitution Day. All classes at all grade levels should have a lesson today on the US Constitution that is developmentally appropriate to the children you are teaching.

12. Please note that the WS/FCS mail servers will be down for 24 hours beginning at 5:00 PM on Friday, September 18. The servers will be down for routine maintenance. You will not be able to access e-mail via Blackberry, Lotus Notes or I-Notes platforms.
