5. Teachers were asked to turn in the notes from parents indicating that they were not to watch President Obama's speech. To my knowledge, only one child had a note and she went to the gym and was supervised by Ms. Clodfelter. If there were other students, please send me an e-mail indicating this. I also need to know if there were any classes that did not have the speech on. We had the speech on in the cafeteria so classes that were there were able to watch.
6. The training for NCWISE Grade book will not be Thursday afternoon. We have asked for next Tuesday and are awaiting a response from technology.
7. One of the things we will give parents at the Gateway meeting next Tuesday is the EVAAS prediction for their child for both Reading and math in third grade and reading, math and science in fifth grade. Remember to discuss this as part of signing the PEP and emphasize the importance of tutoring as one intervention that can help change the prediction.
8. Remember to update your web page by this Friday If you need assistance, please ask Ms. C. Smith.
9. Remember to get with the individual you are doing a peer observation on and schedule a time for it. Also remember to take time and sit down with no one else around to do your self-assessment.
10. I will be off campus this afternoon at central office beginning at 3:10 attending a meeting with Community Support Service and Mental Health providers.
11. We have received two deliveries of the Chronicle and both have remained in the teachers' lounge. If this resources is not going to be used, we will discontinue the subscription. It has been purchased in classroom sets for our 4th and 5th grade classrooms. If you plan on using it weekly, please let me know. I believe it to be a valuable resource, but only if read.
12. Michael Montgomery of the Boy Scouts will be here this afternoon to spend about 3 minutes in each 1-5 classroom talking about the Cub Scout sign-up tomorrow night and passing out a flyer to the boys. These sessions are fairly quick and painless. Please stop what your doing so he can make his presentation. Thanks for your cooperation.
13. Mike Larson, a representative of Primerica will be in the media center after school to meet with interested parties regarding financial planning.
14. Kristine Atkinson, our flexible benefits representative will meet with interested individuals in the tutoring. A schedule has been placed on the wall outside the room for interested parties to sign-up.
14. I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody.
