September 10, 2009
1. Today is Day 12.
2. It is the mission of Speas Elementary School to provide its students with the tools necessary to successfully meet the challenges they will face in a diverse world.

WS/FCS September 11 video presentation - 8:00 AM; 9:00 AM: 10:30 AM; and 1:30 PM

5. Please note that the WS/FCS 9/11 video will be shown throughout the day tomorrow. Teachers should remember to make the content meaningful for their students developmentally.
6. The training for NCWISE Grade book will be next Wednesday. SIT will do the master calendar on Tuesdfay.
7. Remember to update your web page by this Friday If you need assistance, please ask Ms. C. Smith.
8. Remember to get with the individual you are doing a peer observation on and schedule a time for it. Also remember to take time and sit down with no one else around to do your self-assessment.
9. I will be off campus this morning attending an Elementary Principals' meeting.
10. Their will be a Cub Scout sign-up at Speas tonight beginning at 7:00 PM. It is for students in grades 1-5.
11. Kristine Atkinson, our flexible benefits representative will meet with interested individuals in the tutoring room this morning only.
14. Teachers participating in the DIBELS training tomorrow should do their hour long intro today so they will be ready and up to speed tomorrow at 7:30 AM.
15. NCDPI has determined to eliminate the NCCLAS from the testing program. Any students who were on NCCLAS will now have to be placed back in regular EOG testing with any appropriate modifications. NCCLAS failed peer review by the US DOE under NCLB.
