1. Today is Day 32.
2. It is the mission of Speas Elementary School to provide its students with the tools necessary to successfully meet the challenges they will face in a diverse world.

5. If you have not voted to determine if we authorize certified staff members to take annual leave on 10/30, please do so before 10:00 AM this morning. The totals will become official at that time.

6. "The NED Show" items are on sale each morning in room #7 up until 7:55 AM.
7. Ms. Badarin will offer a Smart Board workshop in her room on Thursday, October 22 from 2:40-3:40. Ms. Jewell will provide snacks.
8. As a follow-up to yesterday's meeting, please remember to think and discuss with other teachers, how we can resolve the lesson planning issue so that we do not create more work for teachers and still provide for the other needs lessons plans meet. Also delineate your schedules more closely identifying what actually takes place during those larger blocks of time. Once we know how time is being spent we can determine what changes are necessary overall in order to meet the instructional requirements specified for us. Thanks for your consideration of these issues.
9. We will have between 30 and 40 contractors here this morning for a pre-bid meeting in the cafeteria. The meeting will be from 9:00-10:30 and some of the contractors will remain after to walk around the school. They will all be wearing the only red VISITOR apple sticker so you can recognize them. They will most like not enter any classrooms. This meeting will be followed by a second WSFCS construction meeting which will involve Ms. Powell and me. That meeting is from 10:45-11:45.
10. Mr. Ireland will be gone for the next two weeks attending his father's funeral and tending to his affairs in Jamaica. We will have a sub in his place. Mr. Cokley will be in charge and will be opening the building in the mornings.
