1. Today is Day 37.
2. It is the mission of Speas Elementary School to provide its students with the tools necessary to successfully meet the challenges they will face in a diverse world.

Elementary Principals' meeting - 7:15-12:00 - Reichert off-campus
Friday: October 16
MOVE/Construction meeting - 8:00-9:00 - Reichert off-campus
Sol Ed meeting - 3:00-5:00 - Reichert off-campus
4. Upcoming Calendar Items:
a. 10/19 - After School Tutoring begins
b. 10/19 - Interim Reports go home
c. 10/20 - Paisley IB Assembly - Fifth Grade - 1:00-1:45 - gym
d. 10/21 - Junior League Puppet Show - 9:45 - Third Grade
e. 10/22 - First Quarter testing begins
f. 10/28 - First Quarter ends
5. Ident-A-Kid will be here today to take pictures for ID cards for those students whose parents have requested and paid for them. We will call for students when they are needed.
6. Items from "The NED Show" will be on sale through Friday in room #7 until 7:55 AM.
7. Ms. Badarin will offer a Smart Board workshop in her room on Thursday, October 22 from 2:40-3:40. Ms. Jewell will provide snacks.
8. On the PTA Board in the front lobby are the names of parents and staff members who have joined PTA. Please consider adding your name on a star. It's only $5.00 and it goes to support the work of the PTA and benefit our students.
9. Don't forget to take care of your United Way pledge. Do it early so your can check it off your "To Do" list.
10. I will be off-campus this morning at an Elementary Principals' meeting from 7:20-12:00. I will also be off-campus this afternoon at a WSFCS Staff Policy Committee meeting from 4:00-5:00 PM.
11. Certified staff members who have not had their self-assessment review and have not as yet turned in their PDP to their observer should contact them about it. Individuals not on the New Evaluation Instrument should complete the old PDP form and turn it in to Ms. Powell.
12. Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest.
