1. Today is Day 38.
2. It is the mission of Speas Elementary School to provide its students with the tools necessary to successfully meet the challenges they will face in a diverse world.

6. "The NED Show" items sale will close this morning at 7:55.
7. I will be off-campus this morning from 7:30-9:15 at a meeting at central office regarding our upcoming construction. Bids are due October 27 and Ms. Powell and I have been working with the powers that be developing the plans for how we will move around the building during the 18 month construction process. Look for things to begin around mid to late November. The first group to move out of their rooms into the pod will be 4th and 5th grades and that move will take place in the Spring.
8. On the PTA Board in the front lobby are the names of parents and staff members who have joined PTA. Please consider adding your name on a star. It's only $5.00 and it goes to support the work of the PTA and benefit our students.
9. Your United Way pledge will do a lot for our community during this time of economic uncertainty. Most importantly it will help the most vulnerable among us.
