1. Today is Day 39.

5. After school tutoring begins today with an orientation. Individuals who are working in the program will go directly to tutoring and will not be available for after school duty. Please send all students who are staying for tutoring to the cafeteria at 2:30.

6. Please consider joining PTA. Your $5.00 donation will come back to support our school.

7. Please keep Nancy Jewell and her family in your thoughts and prayers. Her 15 year old nephew drowned on Friday while surfing on the Outer Banks. She is currently in Wilmington. Ms. McKoy is serving as her substitute.

8. Ms. Powell would like to meet with the Lesson Plan Committee this afternoon at 2:30 in Ms. Summey's room.

9. Our United Way drive continues. We are moving forward toward our $3,500 goal. Please consider a contribution toward our effort. It truly benefits our students and their families.

10. As you begin this week's planning sessions, please include in your planning session notes (minutes) the issues that your group noted in its review of the September walk-through data. This will help Ms. Marston, Ms. Powell and me as we conduct our walk-throughs and will provide you with a basis for the problem(s) that you need to address in planning. Thanks for your help.

11. We have a lot of substitutes in the building today. Please be of assistance where you can.

12. This is National School Bus Safety week. Let's ensure all students, drivers and the public are focused on School Bus Safety. Please remind children about:
1). Bus Stop Safety
2). Proper Conduct on School Buses
3). "Bottoms to Bottoms, Backs to Backs and Book bags in laps"
