1. Today is Day 40.
2. It is the mission of Speas Elementary School to provide its students with the tools necessary to successfully meet the challenges they will face in a diverse world.
3. Calendar items for this week:

K-1 AR Celebration - 8:15
Equity+ Principals' Meeting -12:00-1:30 - Reichert off-campus

2-3 AR Celebration - 8:15
SIP Rough Draft Due
A's and Bees Tutoring 6:00-8:00 - cancelled
4. We continue to have computers, monitors and TV's left on at the end of the day. We also have blinds that are not closed. Remember to:
a. TURN ALL TV's OFF
b. TURN OFF ALL MONITORS and COMPUTERS (CPU's)
5. The office will be open Wednesday, November 26 but the building will not be heated. It will be closed on November 27 and 28. Once again the building will not be heated over the Thanksgiving Holiday. If you want to come in and work for some reason, make sure you dress warmly.
6. Fliers regarding The "Retirement Information Center" dates for 2008-2009 are in the lounge and the mail room.
7. Upcoming dates for your calendar:

b. December 06 - Holiday Open House - The Reichert's House
c. December 12 - Speas Meeting with Dr. Martin
8. Remember that classified staff members may depart at 2:30 PM today and tomorrow. Ms. Rhodes, Ms. Higgins, Ms. Fletcher, Mr. Ireland and Mr. Cokley may leave an hour earlier than their normal time. That means that the building will close at 5:00 tomorrow. Mr. Hart will be the last one out the door on Tuesday following the departure of the last magnet express student.
9. Human Resources has announced 403b Fairs for the following companies: American Century, Edward Jones (The Hartford), Wachovia Securities (The Hartford, ING), Horace Mann, Security Benefit.
Wednesday, December 3: East Forsyth HS, Cafeteria, 4:00-6:00pm.
Thursday, December 4: North Forsyth HS, Media Center, 4:00-6:00pm.
Wednesday, December 10:West Forsyth HS, Cafeteria, 4:00-6:00pm.
Thursday, December 11: Parkland HS - Cafeteria, 4:00-6:00pm.
(Registration is not required for these events!)
10. The AR celebration for K-1 is todayday at 8:15. The 2-3 celebration is tomorrow at 8:15.
11. Please be reminded that on days when school is delayed, staff members are expected to arrive at their regular time. Safety of course is the primary concern and we don't want anyone traveling when it is unsafe.
12. Due to tomorrow being the last day before a three day vacation, there will be no A's and Bees Tutoring tomorrow night.
13. Jendah Thomas was selected to have her art displayed "Seeing the City" at Reynolda House. There is an exhibit on loan from NYC , artist John Sloan, and WS/FCS was to have students do city scape exhibits. Jendah's is a beautiful pastel and is very abstract and hers was one of 12 in the whole county of ES schools. The exhibit is December 5 - the Christmas holidays. PLEASE go by and see it. Once again Ms. Rusch has had one of her students' pieces selected for recognition.
14. Anna Salas is going with the 4th grade on the field trip. Ms. Clodfelter will cover the only class she will miss at 11:30 - 12:05.
