1. Today is Day 56.

2. It is the mission of Speas Elementary School to provide its students with the tools necessary to successfully meet the challenges they will face in a diverse world.

3. Calendar items for this week:

Marzano Staff Development - 2:40-4:00
First Tee Evening - Session #1 5:00 - set up; 6:00 - program
McDonalds Night - 5:00-8:00
A's and Bees Tutoring - 6:00-8:00

Wednesday: November 19
SIP Meetings - 2:40-4:00

Thursday: November 20
Technology Staff Development - 2:40-4:00
PTA Teacher of the Year Dinner - Village Inn - Clemmons - 6:30-8:30

Friday: November 21
Dollar Dress Down Day
Reichert Off-campus after 11:30

4. Tonight is the first session of First Tee, a golfing program for children. It will take place in the gym under the direction of Susan Sidden. She will begin setting up at 5:00 with the session beginning at 6:00.

5. At the end of every day:
a. TURN ALL TV's
b. TURN OFF ALL MONITORS and COMPUTER (CPU's)

6. Social Committee dues are $25 and can be paid in a single payment, or installments throughout the year. See Ms. Johnson to work out payment of your dues.

7. Fliers regarding The "Retirement Information Center" dates for 2008-2009 are in the lounge and the mail room.

8. Upcoming dates for your calendar:

9. Review conferences scheduled for today are: 8:50 - Falor; 9:30 - Merrill; and 10:15 - Say

10. Classified staff members should depart at 2:30 PM on Monday and Tuesday of next week to give them the time for Veteran's Day and Thanksgiving.

11. We meet this afternoon on our SIT plan rough draft.

12. The meeting with the architect has been postponed until December 02. I'll keep you informed.

13. Today is our monthly Marzano training. This will be the last one until Ms. Falor returns from maternity leave.

14. I am in need of someone to cover A's and Bees tutoring tonight. I am doing a police ride-along for Leadership Winston-Salem.

15. Please come out and support Speas tonight between 5:00-8:00 PM at McDonalds on North Point Blvd. Eat in or drive thru, it all goes to support our program.

16. I heard today that Mickey Mouse is 80 today. He is the most recognized figure in the United States.
