a. CLOSE ALL BLINDS

8. Furlough explanation and budget crisis
9. Please take a minute to drop a Thank You note to Hope Presbyterian for yesterday's breakfast items. Notes can be placed in their box above the small set of mailboxes by my office door to the mail room.
10. Ms. Powell and Ms. Fletcher are off-campus all day today.
11. Mr. Ireland is out sick today which has resulted in a delay of this posting.
12. Please read the e-mail I forwarded to the staff this morning regarding the possible furlough day we discussed in Staff Meeting on Tuesday. The memo from Kerry Crutchfield, our finance officer, explains the current budget situation and the circumstances that would be necessary in order for us to have to use the furlough day. If you have other questions, I will do my best to answer them.
13. As I checked rooms this morning I noted a lot of trash, crayons, pencils, books and other items on the floors. I also noted that many rooms did not have chairs on top of their desks. It is very difficult to clean rooms when the chairs are down and you have to continually pick up items off the floor that cannot be vacuumed. Please have your children pick up all large items off the floors, including pencils, crayons, books, papers and instructional materials as the last thing you do before the end of the day.
14. If you aren't fired with enthusiasm, you will be fired with enthusiasm.
Vince Lombardi (1913 - 1970)
Punctuality is the virtue of the bored.
Evelyn Waugh (1903 - 1966), Diaries of Evelyn Waugh (1976)
The only obligation to which in advance we may hold a novel, without incurring the accusation of being arbitrary, is that it be interesting.
Henry James (1843 - 1916)
Any war that requires the suspension of reason as a necessity for support is a bad war.
