5. Thanks to everyone who helped to make last night's Really Big Night a success. Special thanks go to Mr. Baker for his work in preparing the students. We also want to thank Ms. Laney, Ms. Bushey and Ms. Goliszek for assisting with the decorations. Thanks to Ms. Fussell, Ms. Fletcher and all the staff members and parents who made the book fair successful also. If I have missed anyone, please let me know so I can thank everyone who played a role.
6. Upcoming dates for your calendar:
a. March 18 - Dental Screening (EC students, K, 3rd and 5th grades)
b. March 19-26 - 3rd Quarter EOQ testing
c. March 24 - AR Benchmarks due
d. March 27 - Dollar Dress Down Day
e. April 1-3 - Spring Break
7. Sometimes it only seems that we hear complaints. Well last night I was stopped by a parent who wanted to thank Speas for helping her raise a fine son. She was most appreciative for all the we had done for her, her son and family.
8. If you receive notes regarding parents declining to have their children screened for dental problems, please keep them until after 3/18. On 3/19, please send them to Ms. Rhodes who will file them as a group.
9. I will be off-campus all day at the Career for Education Day with Leadership Winston-Salem. Ms. Powell will be off-campus from 11:15 to 12:45 at an informational meeting given by the US Department of Education. They are conducting a study with the WS/FCS on the impact of merit pay on student achievement and we have been asked to participate. This will involve paying staff members more if they can demonstrate improve student achievement outcomes as measured by EVAAS data. We will have more information for you following today's meeting.
10. Hope Presbyterian is bringing breakfast for the staff tomorrow.
11. I'm worried that the universe will soon need replacing. It's not holding a charge.
