7. I have been approached by a number of individuals regarding my requests for specific items to be included in your weekly plans. I am reviewing those requests at the present time to see how we can minimize the time and effort on the part of the individual and yet provide for the inclusion of need information. There is no need to feel that you have to prepare pages and pages of plans. This does not achieve the goal of providing more information while not burdening the teachers. I have been working on a form we might be able to use that would be teacher friendly; easy to complete; and require very little additional time. I should have it available on Monday. Please do not spend additional hours in planning. That is not my intent, nor has it been since we discussed this in the last staff meeting.

8. If anyone asks you about registering for Kindergarten, remind them that beginning this year, children must turn five (5) on or before August 31.

9. The Art's Council Fund Drive ends soon. Don't miss your chance to help us reach 100%.

10. I have a request from an A & T student to observe a social studies or health class. Send me an e-mail if you would like to have her sit in on yours.

11. I have received a number of donated items from Carson Dellosa. We will make them available to the teaching staff as soon as we have cataloged them so we can send a "Thank You" note. The were a gift from one of my neighbors, Gail Easley.

12. Addie Hymes will be here today to audit our Title-1 Parent Involvement notebook.

13. I will be off-campus tomorrow on a recruiting trip to UNC-Charlotte. I will be here at the beginning of the day and then leave for Charlotte from here. Ms. Powell will be off-campus all day as well attending the second day of training on the new teacher evaluation instrument.

14. The world is a tragedy to those who feel, but a comedy to those who think.
Horace Walpole (1717 - 1797)

Whoso would be a man must be a nonconformist.
Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803 - 1882)
No man is exempt from saying silly things; the mischief is to say them deliberately.
Michel de Montaigne (1533 - 1592)

Today's scientists have substituted mathematics for experiments, and they wander off through equation after equation, and eventually build a structure which has no relation to reality.
Nikola Tesla (1857 - 1943), Modern Mechanics and Inventions, July, 1934
