1. Today is Day 110.
2. It is the mission of Speas Elementary School to provide its students with the tools necessary to successfully meet the challenges they will face in a diverse world.

Author Susan Crummel visits Speas - 8:15-9:15 - gym (classes will not be called)

Title-1 Parent Involvement Audit

4. At the end of each day, please do the following:
a. CLOSE ALL BLINDS
b. TURN OFF ALL MONITORS and COMPUTERS (CPU's)
5. If grade four teachers have taken totals for books read over the last 3 weeks for the MEAC Challenge, please report them to me today so I can turn them in.

7. Classes will not be called to today's author presentation. They should come to the gym immediately following Morning Broadcast.
8. If anyone asks you about registering for Kindergarten, remind them that beginning this year, children must turn five (5) on or before August 31.
9. The Art's Council Fund Drive ends soon. Don't miss your chance to help us reach 100%. The piece above is by Georgia O'Keefe. It is a landscape of her adopted home in New Mexico. If you are ever in Santa Fer, the Georgia O'Keefe Museum is a must for any art lover.
10. I have a request from an A & T student to observe a social studies or health class. Send me an e-mail if you would like to have her sit in on yours.
11. Fifth grade students Parent Surveys should be turned in today. Once we have the list of students who brought them I will have Ms. Higgins get the money from the bank. We will pay the $1.00 tomorrow at lunch time.
12. Addie Hymes will be here tomorrow from the Title-1 office to audit our Parent Involvement notebook.
13. I will be off-campus most of Friday on a recruiting trip to UNC-Charlotte.
14. Ms. Alston's Jump Rope for Heart students have raised almost $800 so far. The activity will take place today at 12:15 in the gym.
15. Assuming either the Left Wing or the Right Wing gained control of the country, it would probably fly around in circles.
