4. At the end of each day, please do the following:
a. CLOSE ALL BLINDS
b. TURN OFF ALL MONITORS and COMPUTERS (CPU's)
5. Classroom teachers should sign-up for a review conference taking place this week. The sign-up sheet is in the mail room. Today's conferences are: Merrill - 9:30; Linhart - 1:30
6. Upcoming dates for your calendar:
a. February 17 - McDonalds' Night
b. February 17 - Marzano Staff Development
c. February 19 - IEP Training
d. February 23 - Interim Reports go home
e. February 24 - Technology Staff development
f. February 25 - Author Susan Crummel's visit - 8:15-9:00 - gym
g. February 25 - Jump Rope for Heart - 12:15
7. A representative of the Horace Mann Insurance Company will be in the cafeteria this Thursday at 2:45. He would like to meet with any individuals interested in opening a 403(b) account. Horace Mann is one of the providers selected by WS/FCS to provide this product to its employees.
8. If anyone asks you about registering for Kindergarten, remind them that beginning this year, children must turn five (5) on or before August 31.
9. We will have a presentation on Gangs as part of today's staff meeting.
10. Please be prepared to share with your colleagues at today's Staff Meeting. We would like to review how you are implementing similarities and differences and are particularly interested in your use of graphic organizers. Please bring at least one you have used and be prepared to share.
11. Third and Fifth grade teachers should provide the after school tutors each Monday with a listing of vocabulary they will be using during the upcoming week and the objectives for the week in reading and mathematics. The tutors are front loading vocabulary and skills so that our students have multiple opportunities to work with the same content.
12. As we enter the Zone Choice Window at the end of the month, there may be an increase in the number of tours that we give. When we come in your classrooms, please go on about your normal business.
13. Ms. Powell will be off-campus Thursday from 8:40-10:20 at Blackberry training.
14. This week is "National Take your Family to School Week."
Tuesday - Family Fitness Night @ 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the school. Encourage them to attend with their family.
Wednesday - Classroom Sharing - Parents have been invited in to the class to participate in a reading or writing lesson. Pre-K - 9:00-11:00 a.m. , K - 11:30-1:30 1st 12:00-2:00 p.m. , 2nd -9:00-11:00 a.m. , 3rd - 8:30-10:30a.m. , 4th - 8:00-9:00 a.m. , 5th - 10:00-11:00 a.m.
Thursday - Family Game Night @ Home - encourage them to turn off the TV and play a board game at home.
Friday - Dollar Dress Down Day & Pastries for Parents Student Council will not be going to the nursing home on Thursday.
