1. Today is Day 100.

2. It is the mission of Speas Elementary School to provide its students with the tools necessary to successfully meet the challenges they will face in a diverse world.

4. At the end of each day, please do the following:
a. CLOSE ALL BLINDS
b. TURN OFF ALL MONITORS and COMPUTERS (CPU's)

5. Classroom teachers should sign-up for a review conference taking place this week. The sign-up sheet is in the mail room. Today's conferences are:

7. A representative of the Horace Mann Insurance Company will be in the cafeteria tomorrow at 2:45. He would like to meet with any individuals interested in opening a 403(b) account. Horace Mann is one of the providers selected by WS/FCS to provide this product to its employees.

8. If anyone asks you about registering for Kindergarten, remind them that beginning this year, children must turn five (5) on or before August 31.

9. Thanks to all of you who attended PTA Family Fitness Night. Hopefully it laid a foundation for a healthier life style for you and your family.

10. A two sided board showing a rough drawing of the proposed plan-B for our renovation is in the tutoring room. Please stop by and look at it. The Building and Grounds Committee asked the architect to draw up the schematics and return to them in two weeks so they can see the plan and make a decision. In the meantime, the entire committee will be stopping by Speas to look at the site and determine which plan is better in the long term. Plan-B is not perfect and I will be expressing some of my concerns to the architect and to operations later today or tomorrow.

11. Once again, congratulations to Ms. Clodfelter for achieving National Board Certification. Cyndy, we are very proud of you!

12. Please see Ms. Say or other Arts COuncil COmmittee members if you have questions about the Arts Council Fund Drive.

13. Ms. Powell will be off-campus tomorrow from 8:40-10:20 at Blackberry training.
14. This week is "National Take your Family to School Week."

Wednesday - Classroom Sharing - Parents have been invited in to the class to participate in a reading or writing lesson. Pre-K - 9:00-11:00 a.m. , K - 11:30-1:30 1st 12:00-2:00 p.m. , 2nd -9:00-11:00 a.m. , 3rd - 8:30-10:30a.m. , 4th - 8:00-9:00 a.m. , 5th - 10:00-11:00 a.m.
Thursday - Family Game Night @ Home - encourage them to turn off the TV and play a board game at home.

Friday - Dollar Dress Down Day & Pastries for Parents Student Council will not be going to the nursing home on Thursday.
