A nation is a society united by delusions about its ancestry and by common hatred of its neighbors.
William Ralph Inge (1860 - 1954)

The reserve of modern assertions is sometimes pushed to extremes, in which the fear of being contradicted leads the writer to strip himself of almost all sense and meaning.
Sir Winston Churchill (1874 - 1965)

I can't understand why a person will take a year to write a novel when he can easily buy one for a few dollars.
Fred Allen (1894 - 1956)
