7. Bus letters for your students for 2010-11 have been printed and placed in your boxes. Please send them home today. Students are to give them to their parents for review and return them if corrections need to be made. There are places where they can put their corrections. These indicate where the bus stop will be for the next year. If students don't bring back changes, they will be assigned to the stop listed and it will not be able to be changed until mid-September. It pays to take care of this now. The letters contain both English and Spanish translations.
8. Ms. Powell is recovering from oral surgery yesterday and will be off campus all day. Please keep this in mind when making requests from the office.
9. Remember to keep a list of students who return their Parent Surveys.
10. A number of important issues will be on today's SIT. All staff members are invited to attend all SIT meetings. Today's would be a very good one to sit in on as SIT struggles to determine our structure for next year and how to allocate funding and personnel for 2010-11. As a result, this meeting may run longer than normal.
11. The income tax has made more liars out of the American people than golf has.
Will Rogers (1879 - 1935), Illiterate Digest (1924), "Helping the Girls with their Income Taxes"
Too many people are thinking of security instead of opportunity. They seem more afraid of life than death.
James F. Byrnes (1879 - 1972)
A poet who reads his verse in public may have other nasty habits.
Robert Heinlein (1907 - 1988), Time Enough for Love, 1978
We are none of us infallible--not even the youngest of us.
W. H. Thompson
