5. Next week, the US Census will be at Speas providing assistance to the community. They will be in the gym Tuesday, 4/27 through Friday, 4/30 from 8:00-5:00. PE classes will be held outside or in the classroom if it rains.
6. Don't forget to turn in your pledge card for the UNCF drive. They can be turned in to Michelle Odom. She informed me yesterday that our total is still $ 645.00.The drive ends May 21, 2010.
7. The filters in the HV/AC units in the pod were changed yesterday. The delay in changing these was caused by a back-order on the filters needed for these units. There were no filters available in the entire system. This explains why they were so dirty when we moved into the pod.
8. A sign-up sheet has been placed in the mail room for 3rd quarter Review Conferences. Please sign up for a time.
9. Next Tuesday, our ESL students will participate in their spring MIND WORKOUT. This friendly competition will be held in the media center. We will start with pizza in the cafeteria at 5:30 followed by the program in the media center. As a result, there will be no A's and Bees Tutoring next week.
10. Classroom Teachers, please remember to send me the number of students whom you are very certain will be retained at the end of the year. I need them by Thursday afternoon as I meet with Ms. Bigham on Friday.
11. Because of the Document Camera training session after school on Thursday, there will be no tutoring. This includes at-risk and title-1. A note will go home with tutoring students today and an Alert Now will go out this evening as a reminder.
12. We will develop a PM Duty Schedule so that everyone does not have to wait out front. We have had people waiting until we were sure we had the problems worked out in the new dismissal procedure.
13. The Volunteer Luncheon is today from 11:00-1:00. We will make the necessary arrangements so that K and 3rd grade teachers can enjoy the food and fellowship. I will be in the cafeteria to ensure coverage of classes as well.
14. Ms. Powell will be off-campus this morning from 9:00-1:00 at an Elementary Principals' meeting.
15. There's no business like show business, but there are several businesses like accounting.
