1. Today is Day 142.
2. It is the mission of Speas Elementary School to provide its students with the tools necessary to successfully meet the challenges they will face in a diverse world.

3. Upcoming Calendar Items:
a. 4/27-4/30 - US Census at Speas in the gym. PE classes will be outside
b. 4/ 27- EOG Training
c. 4/28 - EOG Training
d. 4/30 - Dollar Dress Down Day
4. With the Spring Fling coming on April 30, remember that all certified staff are expected to attend and assist as members of the PTA. Classified staff who attend and are working will receive COMP time coupons for the amount of time they work.
5. Next week, the US Census will be at Speas providing assistance to the community. They will be in the gym Tuesday, 4/27 through Friday, 4/30 from 8:00-5:00. PE classes will be held outside or in the classroom if it rains.
6. Don't forget to turn in your pledge card for the UNCF drive. They can be turned in to Michelle Odom. She informed me yesterday that we had raised $645.00 to date.The drive ends May 21, 2010.
7. Student Council will not be going on a trip to the nursing home on Friday.
8. A sign-up sheet has been placed in the mail room for 3rd quarter Review Conferences. Please sign up for a time.

10. Classroom Teachers, please remember to send me the number of students whom you are very certain will be retained at the end of the year.
11. Per Child Nutrition, Speas WILL NOT house a summer feeding program for the summer of 2010.
12. Teachers currently in rooms 1-2 and 4-6 should be sure to pack up their rooms before they leave for the summer as they will be moving at the beginning of the new school year and there won't be time to do it then. Some of these classes will be moving to new rooms in the back building and others will be going to the pod. The Boy Scouts will also be using these rooms for their Summer Camp June 21-25.
