1. Today is Day 140.

2. It is the mission of Speas Elementary School to provide its students with the tools necessary to successfully meet the challenges they will face in a diverse world.

3. Calendar items for this week:

Thursday: April 16
Review Conferences
Elementary Principals' meeting - 7:15-12:00 - Reichert off-campus
Fourth Grade Writing Test - 8:00 AM
Staff Meeting - 2:40-4:00

Friday: April 17
Review Conferences
Career Day
Honor Roll Assembly - 8:15 AM

4. At the end of each day, please do the following:
a. CLOSE ALL BLINDS
b. TURN OFF ALL MONITORS and COMPUTERS (CPU's)

5. "Thanks" to everyone who helped make the Cultural Fair a success. The students had a great time. Special thanks go out to Ms. Marston for organizing this undertaking.

6. Upcoming dates for your calendar:
a. April 20 - Interim Reports go home
b. April 21 - Marzano Staff Development
c. April 24 - Dollar Dress Down Day
d. April 28 - Technology Staff Development
e. April 29 - ESL Field Trip

7. Please sign up today for your third quarter review conference. The sheet is on the board in the mail room.

8. You have two days left to declare your intent for next school year. So far 22 of 32 individuals have responded.

9. Don't forget to purchase your "Night Beneath the Stars" tickets. They are $35.00 per person.

10. A Title-1 survey will be placed in your box in the next few days. These are to be sent home with students in Monday Packets. Students who turn them in by Friday morning will receive ice cream in the cafeteria at lunch on Friday. Teacher should keep a list of all students who turn them in during the week.

11. I am in need of a fifth grade math teacher for this Saturday morning, April 18, from 8:30-11:30. I will be happy to compensate the individual either monetarily or with Compensatory time. Please drop me an e-mail if your would like to assists us. It comes with a free breakfast as well.
