AM Announcements
December 11, 2008


1. Today is Day 70.


2. It is the mission of Speas Elementary School to provide its students with the tools necessary to successfully meet the challenges they will face in a diverse world.


3. Calendar items for this week:


Thursday: December 11
Elementary Principals' meeting - 7:30-12:00 - Reichert off-campus
Science Fair viewing
4th Grade (On-demand) Writing test - 8:15 AM
Meeting for Team meeting with Dr. Martin - 1:00 PM (Powell, Mincer, Marston, and Reichert)
Technology Staff Development - Cancelled
WS/FCS Staff Policy Committee meeting - 4:00-5:00 PM - Reichert off-campus

Friday: December 12
Dollar Dress Down Day
SIT team meets with Dr. Martin - 9:30
All Science Fair Projects taken home
Mid-year Evaluation Conference with Toni Bigham - Reichert - 1:30-3:00Staff Social - La Caretta - 3:00 PM - Everyone welcome

4. At the end of each day please do the following:
a. PLEASE CLOSE ALL BLINDS
b. TURN ALL TV's OFF
c. TURN OFF ALL MONITORS and COMPUTERS (CPU's)

5. The drawings and blue prints are on display in the tutoring room. Please feel free to ask questions and make comments. Comments for the architect's considerations should be made via e-mail.

6. Upcoming dates for your calendar:
a. December 12 - Speas Meeting with Dr. Martin
b. December 17 - SIP Title-1 Plan Peer Review 8:00-9:00 AM
b. December 17 - RJR Jazz Band - 10:00 AM
c. December 18 and 19 - Classified staff members depart an hour early

7. We are beginning to run low on paper. If you have paper in your classroom, we want to use it up before we purchase more. Feel free to take it to the Hive and place it on the shelves so it can be used.

8. It appears that I did morning announcements on Tuesday afternoon but simply saved them and did not post them. Since I was gone yesterday, I did not realize this until this morning. I posted them this morning for you to refer back to. I apologize for this omission.

9. Marlo Gaddis called and neither she nor Evan will be able to be here this afternoon. Therefore the Staff-Development has been cancelled and will be rescheduled after the first of the year.

10. I will be off-campus this morning at an Elementary Principal's meeting.

11. Dollar Dress Down Day is the next two Friday's please encourage your students to participate. All Dollar Dress Down Money in December goes towards the Holiday Families that the Student Council is sponsoring.

12. Our Superkids officer, Kim Ruff, will be here December 15 through February 06. Kindergarten, Second and Fifth grades will receive classes.
13. In order for rooms to be cleaned daily, chair must be placed on top of desks or tables when the children leave at the end of the day. Please make this part of your end of the day routine.

13. Toni Bigham will be here tomorrow afternoon to do my Mid-year Evaluation. We may be out in classrooms. Should we come in your room, just go on with what you are doing.
