6. Books for the African Book Project can be dropped off in the front lobby. Please encourage your students to participate. You can join them in donating books as well. We have until February 19.

7. When staff members arrive for work and bring their own children, they should keep them in their room and/or under their supervision until the bell rings and everyone comes into the building. They should not be around the building unsupervised.

9. If you haven't gotten a gift for your sweetie, you have only today and tomorrow. Valentine's Day is Sunday.

10. There will be a 4 hour Title-1 Comprehensive Needs Assessment training here in Winston-Salem on Saturday, February 27 from 9:00-1:00. Interested It pays a $75 stipend. At this point Ms. Miller and Ms. Heyland have expressed interest in attending. You can join them if you wish. Just let me know by e-mail.

11.  Dr, Martin has received quite a few questions about going to school Monday. He is going to send out an AlertNow message about perfect attendance. Since parents planned absences in good faith and since perfect attendance is an award that many schools give, Monday's absence WILL COUNT for student accounting purposes but will NOT COUNT against a student receiving a perfect attendance certificate.
12. There is a sign-up sheet in the mailroom to take food or groceries or a meal to Rose Rusch and Amber. Please see Ms. Higgins if you wish to donate Annual Leave days to Rose. Your support is greatly appreciated.

13. Please remind your students that we will have school on Monday.

14. The 2nd Quarter AR Incentive Sessions will take place on the following schedule:

Monday, Feb. 22 - 8:00-8:45 : Grades K/1

We have contacted the schools involved to check on what they are planning. We have heard from Union Cross and they are operating on a Monday schedule, therefore Ms. Thompson-Totten will be here on Manday. I will let you know as soon as I hear from the other two schools.
