6. Many of the students who are attending the after school tutoring program are very good students and don't need to be here. I am sending our the master list to all teachers so that they can revioew it and let me know who does not need to be coming. I will take care of contacting the parents informing them that their child does not need to continue to come. That will reduce the number of students and enable us to make a greater impact with students who actually need it.

7. Ms. Powell will be off-campus today. For assistance please contact Dr. Reichert.

8. News from Student Council:
a. The Speas American Idol Talent Show would love to have staff participation. Please notfiy Mr. Cokley, Ms. Mincer, or Mrs. Fletcher if you would like to participate.

b. Please encourage your students to attend the show. The admission cost is a $1.00. There will be a hotdog and hamburger dinner before the show.

9. There are boxes in the front lobby for donations of cereal to Crisis Control Ministry. We will be collecting full unopened boxes throughout the month.

10. Our author presentation yersterday was courtesy of our friends at Jefferson. I'm sure their PTA would love to hear from your classes regarding it. Thank You notes can be sent to the media coordinator at Jefferson.

11.In case you haven't heard, Ms. Higgins was involved in a traffic accident on the way to work yesterday. She was struck in the driver's door by a car that pulled onto NC 67 as she was passing by. She suffered brusing and her car was suffered significant damage. Hopefully she will return to work today.

12. Rooms 21-28 should be in the final stages of packing and purging in preparation for their move to the pod which is 3 weeks away. If you need additional boxes, please let Mr. Ireland know so he can bring them to your room. All other classes in rooms 1-6A and 9-20 should be working on packing as well. You will be moving out immediately following the last day of school. A construction dumpster has been placed by the fence outside the door at the end of the hallway at rooms 27-28. Purge everything you haven't used in several years and toss it over the fence into the dumpster. It has been placed there just for your use.

13. I will be in the media center immediately following dismissal this afternoon to discuss and/or explain the budget sheet that was passed out on Wednesday. Attendance is purely voluntary as is the duration of your stay. I'll remain and as long as there are questions to answer. Everyone is welcome to attend. Knowledge and understanding are important commodities especially when all the choices are painful.

14. Humility is the embarrassment you feel when you tell people how wonderful you are.

Fifth Grade will be eating lunch at 10:30 on Monday as we leave for our concert at 11:00. Should we just go from 10:10 - 10:25 or so?

Please check with Ms. Bryant in the cafeteria when you arrive at school so she is aware of the need to eat earlier and she can make the necessary arrangements.
