5. Be Healthy School Kids Announcement:

The 10-week step challenge ends today. All participating classes please send your step counting activity book and pedometers to the office at the end of the of the school day on Friday for pick-up by Behealthy School Kids staff. Please make sure the your name and room # is printed on the book. The class with the most steps/miles will receive a pair of gold shoes as a reward. Again, thank you for participating in the challenge.

6. Thanks to all of you who have shared your ANIMOTO shows with me. Emory would be proud!

7. Please do everything in your power to get out of here soon after the kids do. It is time to start your Christmas hoiliday.

8. We will keep you updated on the weather forecast and what is happening with school. If inclement weather begins and school is closed early, we will operate on an early lunch schedule which means that lunch is moved up one hour for everyone. Right now everything is speculation until something actually begins to fall.

9. Readings of "The Night Before Christmas" today: 9:00 - Taylor; 9:30 - Chitty; 10:15 - Jewell

10. WS/FCS will be offering H1N1 flu vaccinations for employees, retirees and dependents covered by the State Health Plan and/or Blue Cross/Blue Shield. The dates for the H1N1shots are Friday, January 8, and Monday, January 11, in the Central Office 3rd Floor Auditorium, The times will be from 7:30 AM until 7 PM on both days. There is no sign-up for the shots -- just come during the clinic hours for your vaccine.

Children between the ages of 10 and 17 must have parents present to receive the shot. Children under 10 must have two shots and must go to their doctor to get both doses of the H1N1.

Employees and dependents who are not covered by the State Health Plan or BCBSNC must pay $15 per shot for family members and employees. This payment may be paid in cash, checks and Medicare, Part B. Medicare Part B participants will not be required to pay a co-pay. NO CREDIT CARDS WILL BE ACCEPTED,

PLEASE BE SURE TO BRING YOUR INSURANCE CARD ON THAT DAY or you will have to pay for the shot.

11. Ms. Claybon will not be at Speas today. She will be spending the whole day at Kimberly Park.
