5. We need to review staff arrival times on days when we are operating on a delay. The delay refers to students not staff. Staff members are expected to arrive at their regular time. Of course we do not want to endanger anyone, so if you feel that it is unsafe for you to drive, we want you to wait until it is safe. If you arrive after 7:15, the expectation is that you will work longerthat day to make up the time you missed. In essence you are operating on flex-time in these situations. Classified staff members time sheets should reflect the actual arrival and departure time of the individual.
6. There is a technology staff-development this afternoon for certified staff members from 2:40-4:15. I will be off campus due to a Dr.'s appointment and then Ms. Powell and I will be attending the Superintendent's Holiday Open House at 3:30 PM.
7. If you are participating in Secret Santa, please don't forget.
8. Student Council items:

d. Wednesday, December 16, 2009 - All Student Council Members will need to meet in the gym at 1:15 p.m. with their things to practice music for our Nursing Home Visit.
9. There is no A's and Bees Tutoring tonight.
10. Readings of "The Night Before Christmas" today: 9:30 Gifford, 11:00 - Dagenbach
11. WFMY News 2 incorretly announced that WS/FCS were on a delay this morning. They have corrected but we may see some students who are late as a result. Also, buses may be running late due to this incorrect announcement.
12. Please keep Ann Smith and her family in your thoughts and prayers. Ann's son was in a car accident over the weekend. He swerved to miss a deer and hit a tree. He is hospitalized at University Hospital in Charlottesville, VA with a fractured vertebrae. They are placing him in a "turtle shell" to bring his spine into the correct alignment. If this works, he may be discharged on Thursday. Ann was on her way to northern Virginia for her mother's eye surgery. Her mom came through things fine. She was very thankful for that.
13. Breakfast this morning is courtesy of the PTA. Be sure to let them know. Yesterday's delicious goodies were all courtesy of Mary Billingsley. We want to say a big "Thank You" for her kindness.
14. Teachers will receive coupons for students to receive a free hot chocolate or a hot apple cider. There are not enough for all students so please give them as a reward to deserving students.
15. I never think of the future - it comes soon enough.
Albert Einstein (1879 - 1955)
Acting is the most minor of gifts and not a very high-class way to earn a living. After all, Shirley Temple could do it at the age of four.
Katharine Hepburn (1907 - 2003)
Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.
Voltaire (1694 - 1778)
Traditions are group efforts to keep the unexpected from happening.
