1. Today is Day 55.

5. North Carolina Teacher Academy is now offering on-line courses for professional development for public school teachers across the state. Registration will begin in mid-November with classes starting in January 2010. Classes will last 10 weeks and require 20 contact hours for a total of 2.0 CEU's. 6. Triskadekphobia is fear of the number 13. Paraskavedekatriaphobia is the fear of Friday the 13th, which is considered to be a day of bad luck in a number of western cultures. Enjoy your day!

7. Thanks to everyone who helped out last night at Make It, Take It Night for Reading.

8. Mr. Cokley was out sick yesterday. This may have impacted the cleanliness of your rooms today.

9. A check of classrooms this morning found 17 rooms where lesson plans for this week were out on the desk. Nine classrooms had no plans out and visible. Three rooms had some plans but not those for today out and visible.
