Dollar Dress Down Day
4. The media center is now open for business.
5. This Friday is Dollar Dress Down Day. Please talk this up with your students. The money raised goes a long way toward funding student council and PTA projects.
6. The PTA Membership Drive ended on Friday. Not all staff members have joined PTA. We have extended the enrollment period just for staff members. If you don't support the PTA how can we expect other to? Dues are $3.50 per person. How about joining today?
7. Important announcement for teachers in grades 2-5. Take a moment today to write a note in the agenda of two of your students inviting them to attend A's and Bee's tutoring tomorrow night. Then, this afternoon, call their parents and make a personal invitation. The tutors are excited to help but the students aren't coming on their own. This will only take a few minutes but the rewards will be great.
8. Social Committee dues are being collected. About half the staff has paid their dues. The Social Committee does many wonderful things. We need every one's support because everyone benefits. Social Committee dues are $25 for the year.
9. Are you interested in earning a Masters Degree in Reading. ASU is holding two meetings to discuss program information. They are at the Yadkin Center - Room 202, 4649 Hwy 601 in Yadkinville, NC at 4:30 PM or UNC School of the Arts, Work[place West V (5) - Room 113 at 1922 S. Main St., Winston-Salem at 7:00 PM. Both sessions are next Thursday, September 25th.
10. Certified staff should remember to put October 2 on their calendars. This is "Make It, Take It" night and attendance is mandatory. This item has been in Bee Lines for several weeks and on the master calendar since mid-August. There should be no questions regarding attendance.
11. If you have not given Ms. Rhodes a copy of your schedule, please do so today before going home. These are essential for the front office.
12. When registering for a workshop, the only forms that need to be given to Ms. Higgins are those for staff development that require a sub or that we expend money for, such as hiring the speaker. If no money is involved, Ms. Higgins does not need you to print out the on-line registration form and give it to her. I verified this with our internal auditor, Pam Chisolm. We will try to apprise you of this when we post them. The Marzano and Technology workshops do not require the forms be given to Ms. Higgins.
13. A display from Books Are Fun is in the media center. The order will be called in on Thursday and delivered Friday.
14. I would like to meet with all 3-5 teachers, regular classroom and Tittle-1 in the medi center at 7:15. The meeting will last no more than 5 minutes.
15. Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.
