6. Individuals interested in taking mentor training can do so this summer. The sessions have been moved to 8/11-8/13. You can sign-up for this on line. So far we have had two individuals sign up to take the training.
7. REMINDER: Due to increasing problems with children playing with SILLY BANDS, we have banned them from school for the remainder of the year. Should children come in with them on, do not make an issue of it. Give them an envelope and let them place them inside. Then seal the envelope; put their name on it; and have them put it in their book bag.
8. Today is a Dollar Dress Down Day.
9. Class Picnics are today for grades K-3, 5. They will be held in shady spots around our playground equipment and between the buildings.
10. Today is the last day of the second administration of the EOG. We will be doing make-ups for 3 students Monday-Wednesday. We may have the results of the second administration, with the exception of the few make-up tests remaining, later this afternoon. I will publicize them either this evening or over the weekend.
11. Yesterday we met with the architect and construction supervisors. Ms. Powell has had boxes on order from the warehouse for some time. Chris Radesi told her that he would have 400 delivered along with tape. We look for those to arrive today. Classes in the pod will most likely be moved into storage until their renovated rooms are ready to occupy sometime during the summer. Rooms 1-6a should be completely packed but will most likely not move out until mid-July. Everything must be ready however when you leave school on June 15. Right now they can't finish the first phase because of a delay with the windows. We most likely will not have a Certificate of Occupancy until mid-August when you return from the summer break. That means that life will be stressful at that point. Be prepared to NOT have your rooms set up for Open House. You may not have things set up the way you want them until your are into the school year. There is no PLAN B for this project. Don't hold out false hope that everything will be the way you want it to start the year. There is nothing you can do to change anything so be flexible and go with the flow. Come into it expecting the worst and at that point, the only way to go is up.
12. If you borrowed the video camera from room #3, please return it immediately to Cathy Smith. It is needed for Morning Broadcast next week.
13. It is the final proof of God's omnipotence that he need not exist in order to save us.

The reason there is so little crime in Germany is that it's against the law.

If you're choking in a restaurant you can just say the magic words, 'Heimlich maneuver,' and all will be well. Trouble is, it's difficult to say 'Heimlich maneuver' when you're choking to death.
