8. I was contacted by Toni Bigham yesterday regarding the fact that 6 computers were left on on Tuesday night. I will confess, one of them was mine. They are now checking schools on a regular basis so please, we all must work to make this something we do everyday before we leave. I will also remind the custodians to check and shut down any computers that are on when they leave the room unless the teacher is still there.

9. "Night Beneath the Stars" tickets are on sale in the office. They are $35.00 per person.

10. Principals have been notified that they must attend financial workshops based on the quality of their audits. The better the audit, the less financial training the principal is expected to attend. Based on the quality of our audit, the training is optional for me. Congratulations to Ms. Higgins! There were only a couple of schools that were not required to attend any sessions.

11. Ms. Clodfelter and I are off campus this morning until 9:00 AM attending the annual Counselor's breakfast downtown.

12. I will be conducting TOY observations this morning at Mineral Springs MS, Ibraham Elementary and East MS.

13. Ms. C. Smith and I will be representing Speas at the Annual PTA Council Dinner this evening.

14. Advertising may be described as the science of arresting the human intelligence long enough to get money from it.
Stephen Leacock (1869 - 1944)

We are at the very beginning of time for the human race. It is not unreasonable that we grapple with problems. But there are tens of thousands of years in the future. Our responsibility is to do what we can, learn what we can, improve the solutions, and pass them on.
Richard Feynman (1918 - 1988)

Television is for appearing on - not for looking at.
Noel Coward (1899 - 1973)

Speech is conveniently located midway between thought and action, where it often substitutes for both.
John Andrew Holmes, "Wisdom in Small Doses"
