Thanks to Ms. Fletcher for organizing and directing; to Mr. Cokely for working with the contestants and serving as "Ryan Sechrest"; Ms. Robinson for also working with the contestants; Ms. Larson, Ms. Mincer and Mr. Tuttle for serving as our judges; Ms. Barbara for loaning us her kitchen and helping with food prep, serving and clean-up; and all the other staff members who gave up their time to decorate, work in the cafeteria, take/sell tickets; and the myriad other things that were necessary in order to make the evening a success. If you weren't there, you missed it all! Ms. Powell will have COMP time coupons today for all classified staff members who attended and worked past their normal hours.

6. Don't forget to take the Governor's Working Conditions Survey. This is an on-line survey and will be open through April 16. This is a chance to have your voice heard on issues that are important to you.

7. The Annual Enrollment Period for the State Health Plan continues and will run through April 9. ALL EMPLOYEES MUST ENROLL ON-LINE through the following website:

8. If you have anything that can be reused and placed back in the instructional supply closet, please give it to Ms. Rhodes. Rather than throw it away we will attempt to reuses whatever we can.

9. The Health Inspector was here yesterday and wanted me to remind teachers and staff that iff you have chemicals in your classrooms, please keep them out of the reach of children. He didn't see any out but wants us to keep this important fact as a regular focus.

10. Ms. Higgins is out today. Please keep this in mind when making requests of the office.

11. EOQ testing continues. I know this places a strain on K-2 as well as 3-5. Unfortunately, if we are to have our students prepared for the EOG it is necessary. Thanks for hanging in there. It sure makes the mornings long through, doesn't it.

12. An adventure is only an inconvenience rightly considered. An inconvenience is an adventure wrongly considered.
G. K. Chesterton (1874 - 1936)

Philosophy is a battle against the bewitchment of our intelligence by means of language.
Ludwig Wittgenstein (1889 - 1951)

Man is so made that he can only find relaxation from one kind of labor by taking up another.
Anatole France (1844 - 1924), The Crime of Sylvestre Bonnard

Historically, the claim of consensus has been the first refuge of scoundrels; it is a way to avoid debate by claiming that the matter is already settled.
Michael Crichton (1942 - 2008), Caltech Michelin Lecture, January 17, 2003
