1. Today is Day 95.

2. It is the mission of Speas Elementary School to provide its students with the tools necessary to successfully meet the challenges they will face in a diverse world.

Construction Meeting with Operations - 7:30-8:00 - Reichert off-campus
Joint Principals' Meeting - 8:00-12:00 - Reichert off-campus
SIT meeting - 2:40-4:00
Review ConferencesTutoring meeting - all tutoring staff members attend - 2:00-2:30 - Media Center
A's and Bees Tutoring - 6:00-8:00 PM

Wednesday: February 04
Review Conferences
After school tutoring - 2:30-4:00
Neighborhood meets with Dr. Martin - Speas Media Center - 6:00-8:00 PM

Honor Roll Assembly - 1:15

4. At the end of each day, please do the following:
a. CLOSE ALL BLINDS
b. TURN OFF ALL MONITORS and COMPUTERS (CPU's)

5. Classroom teachers should sign-up for a review conference taking place from February 3-13. The sign-up sheet is in the mail room.

6. Upcoming dates for your calendar:

c. February 13 - Dollar Dress Down Day
d. February 17 - Marzano Staff Development
e. February 24 - Technology Staff development

7. This month we will honor Rose Rusch as we participate in the 2009 Winston-SalemArts Council Campaign! Let's work together to achieve 100% participation in her honor!No donation or pledge is too small. Participation is what counts! Your pledge/donation slips along with brochures listing the Campaign's recipients will be put in your boxes this week. Please turn them in February 16 at "Rose's Tea". If you have questions ask:Chris, Kim, Billie, or Gretchen. Tuesday, February 9 Staff Meeting - Arts Council Campaign Kick Off - Terri Pratt from the Arts Council will speak to us about how our monies support the arts in Winston-Salem.Tuesday, February 16 Marzano Training"Rose's Tea"Refreshments will be served. Due date for donations or pledges to the Arts Council Campaign(a box will be provided!)

8. If anyone asks you about registering for Kindergarten, remind them that beginning this year, children must turn five (5) on or before August 31.

9. Please give a list of Honor Roll students to Ms. Rhodes today.

10. As a reminder, when we operate on a delay, staff members are expected to arrive at their normal time. If they must arrive late they should stay late in order to compensate. The work day remains 8 hours for classified and 7 hours 45 minutes for certified. At no time can the work day be less than 7 hours. The aggregate number of hours in a week remains the same.
